Painting Pro Times, the source for paint professionals!
Most of us can cite our favorite sports star or actor. Likewise, we keep a mental file of the greatest plays or best movies. These exercises require knowing a little history, some internal prioritizing and maybe the occasional verbal debate. What about work? Ever consider industry innovations and accomplishments?
Origins of Craftsmanship
The American Paint Timeline
For the larger part of paint history, application and manufacturer was one and the same. It was a single industry where professionals made and put on their own product. Paint making was typically done by hand (no machines) and was an arduous process. From cave walls to the mid 1800s (1867), quite possibly 100,000 years, manufacturer was part of every application. During colonial times, some ingredients were made in volume for purchase, which allowed professionals to spend more time on application and less on making.
Create a Safety Culture
Construction workers confront dangers on jobsites every day, with roughly one in five worker fatalities in private industry occurring in construction, according to OSHA. In addition to the physical and emotional toll, accidents can lead to costly schedule delays as well as regulatory action and litigation. The statistics highlight the risks. Fatal work injuries on construction sites rose 4 percent in 2015 to 937—the highest level since 2008—primarily due to an increase in fatalities among specialty trade contractors, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports.
Associate Appreciation
According to data compiled by Socialcast, 85 percent of workers like having their efforts recognized at work. But more than half feel like they’re getting the short end of the stick. With some simple, cost effective additions every company can improve the sincere appreciation department.
